What I Was Told This Was
Spotify says it is "music for everyone." I am someone. I will report on whether it was for me. (It was not.)
What Happened
I did not sign up. Kyle had put it on the computer at Thanksgiving without asking, and it was already signed in as "kyle_b_2007," so I used that. If they are going to leave the door open, I am going to walk in.
I typed in Herb Alpert. It found him immediately. I will give it that. I pressed the green arrow and music came out of the computer, which is more than the computer usually does.
Then, at about the one-minute mark, the song stopped in the middle and a small wheel turned around. This is called "buffering." I asked Kyle later and he said it was "the Wi-Fi." I do not use the Wi-Fi. I use a cable, like a professional. I own roughly four hundred records. Not one of them has ever buffered.
When the song came back it was a different song. I had not asked for a different song. I pressed the green arrow again and got a third song, by a man I have never heard of, who was shouting. I turned the speakers off at the speakers, which is the correct way.
Every few songs a voice came on and tried to sell me something. I already have the program. It is on my computer. I do not understand what is left to sell me, and I have been in sales.
I looked for a way to make a copy of the song on a CD, so that I could have it. There is not one. You do not get the song. You get to hear the song, until they decide otherwise. In the document-transmission industry we had a word for that, and the word was "preview."
A Note on Denise
Denise came in during the shouting man, pressed two buttons, and the Herb Alpert came back and stayed. I asked her what she pressed. She said "the arrows." There are many arrows. Denise did not disagree that the program is ridiculous.
Verdict
Spotify is a radio that you have to log into. A record player does not need to know who I am. I put the record on. The record plays. When it is done, I still have the record.

"(received by fax, transcribed by Lyle) The shuffle button is the crossed arrows. It was on. That is why it played a different song." – Dale, Wichita, KS, 01/27/2024
Lyle responds: Thank you Dale. Cover sheet was in order. Arrows should point somewhere. These pointed at each other, which is nowhere.
"uncle lyle that's MY account. my top artist is now herb alpert. my friends can see that" – Kyle, (your nephew), 01/24/2024
Lyle responds: You left the door open. Herb Alpert is a fine artist and your friends could do worse.
