pg_fan_2009 from Palo Alto, CA - 08/25/2026 Re: Hacker News review
The grey triangle is an upvote. You gave a website a 3 out of 10 for not containing hacking. I upvoted it, whatever you think that means.
Lyle responds: Thank you. I do not know what it means, but I accept it, and I would like it in writing.

Greg from Dayton, OH - 08/25/2026 Re: Hacker News review
Lyle, somebody posted your Slack review to Hacker News this morning. That's why your site went down. It wasn't the weather.
Lyle responds: Thank you Greg. It was the weather. I have also unplugged the server as a precaution, so it was both.

Denise - 08/12/2026
Lyle the router light is orange again
Lyle responds: This is not what the Guestbook is for. Also it is fixed.

Kyle from (your nephew) - 07/30/2026
uncle lyle please let me look at the server. it's fine. just let me look at it.
Lyle responds: No.

Andrei from Moscow - 07/22/2026
Very good site. Best offer for you here, please visit
Lyle responds: Thank you Andrei. I have removed the address but I appreciate the support from overseas.

Jim Halvorsen from Decatur, IL - 07/01/2026 Re: Reddit review
Lyle. Linda reads your site. The deleted comment said to tape the window. That's all it said. You didn't need to put my name on the internet, the whole point of dentist_jim was that it wasn't.
Lyle responds: Thank you Jim. Denise put your name on the internet. I typed it. The window is taped and I will see you in March for the cleaning.

Mara from Denver, CO - 06/25/2026 Re: Reddit review
Threads get archived after six months automatically. It's not a person deciding. And 'This' means 'I agree with the comment below.' That's why the number is on it and not on the deleted one.
Lyle responds: Thank you Mara. If a machine archives the board, the machine should also take down the question. A question with no answer is not a bulletin. It is a cat that is still lost.

Ray from Springfield, IL - 04/22/2026 Re: YouTube review
Lyle, I'm the guy with the Buick video. Fair review. The fourteen minutes is because the site pays more for videos over ten. The button sequence is the whole thing and I know it. Glad the light's off.
Lyle responds: Thank you Ray. That is the most honest thing anyone in this industry has said to me, and I include myself. You have a three (3). The site is holding it for you. Come by if you are ever in Decatur and I will show you the fax machine.

Nadia from Toronto - 04/15/2026 Re: YouTube review
You can turn off autoplay. There's a switch at the top of the player, next to the settings gear. And the 'SHOCKING' thing is called clickbait, it's not the site, it's the people on it.
Lyle responds: Thank you Nadia. I have found the switch. It is a switch with no word on it, and it was on, and I have said what I think about that. As to the people on it, the site chose to put them on the right side of my Buick. It could have put the comment there instead.

Rob H. from Fort Wayne, IN - 04/02/2026
Found this site by accident looking for a fax machine review. Stayed for 2 hours. Don't ever change.
Lyle responds: I do not intend to.

Theo from Chicago, IL - 01/26/2026 Re: X review
Your reply got hidden because the account is brand new, has no photo, and follows nobody. It's a spam filter, not a judgment. Add a photo and it'll show up normally.
Lyle responds: Thank you Theo. I have a photograph. It is on the About page, where it has been since 2004. The program did not ask for it, and I do not hand a photograph to a program that has already taken my telephone number. The reply can stay in the drawer. I know where it is.

Kyle from (your nephew) - 01/21/2026 Re: X review
uncle lyle the "is this real" one was an ad. you replied to a mattress company. it just looked like a reply
Lyle responds: It had the same shape as the others. So did the mattress people, in 2024, and I told them no then too. The answer stands and so does the reply, wherever it is.

Dale Pruitt from Decatur, IL - 11/12/2025 Re: LinkedIn review
Lyle, good to hear from you. The message about coverage goes to everybody who connects, the boy set it up. Wasn't aimed at you. Come by the office, we'll do it in person.
Lyle responds: Thank you Dale. I knew it was the boy. Tell him the message is fine but it goes out too fast. Forty minutes is not a relationship. I will come by Thursday.

Priya from Austin, TX - 11/07/2025 Re: LinkedIn review
The #OpenToWork ring is a setting you can turn off. Go to your profile, click the photo, and there's a toggle. Also 500+ connections means Kyle imported your email contacts in 2019.
Lyle responds: Thank you Priya. I have found the toggle. It was under the photograph, which is where I looked first, and it was not there then. As to Kyle and my contacts, I have spoken to him.

Carol from Decatur, IL - 07/24/2025 Re: Ticketmaster review
Lyle, it's Carol from the box office. We also charge the facility fee. It's the building's. It's been on your tickets since 2009, it's just printed on the stub. Say hi to Denise.
Lyle responds: Thank you Carol. I have looked at the stubs. It is on the stubs. I do not withdraw the review. The stub does not have a clock on it and you have never charged me for doing your job. See you in August.

Devin from Nashville, TN - 07/19/2025 Re: Ticketmaster review
The $210 tickets aren't a typo. That's resale. People buy them and flip them on the same site. Ticketmaster takes a cut of both sales. You are, for once, completely right, just not about why.
Lyle responds: Thank you Devin. I have been right many times. I will take this one as well, and I am sending the letter anyway.

Marcus from Seattle, WA - 03/12/2025 Re: GitHub review
"oops" and "why" are commit messages, not notes to himself. Well. They kind of are notes to himself. Never mind.
Lyle responds: Thank you Marcus. Then we agree, and I have noted it.

Anita from Columbus, OH - 03/11/2025 Re: GitHub review
Lyle, a 'fork' is a copy of the repository, not silverware. And you're supposed to read the README. It's the file that says README.
Lyle responds: Thank you Anita. If a file needs to tell me to read it, it should have been the only file.

|
Greg from Dayton, OH - 11/14/2024 Re: Slack review
Lyle, the # is a channel, not a phone button. Also you can invite Denise by typing her email.
Lyle responds: Thank you Greg. I disagree.
|
|
Sam from Portland, OR - 11/06/2024 Re: Slack review
You can message Denise directly without 'inviting' her, you'd just need her to also make an account and join the same... never mind.
Lyle responds: Thank you Sam. I noticed you stopped. So did they.

Jordan from Brooklyn, NY - 06/15/2024 Re: Notion review
The 'handles' are blocks. Every paragraph is a block. You can drag them anywhere on the page, or into another page. It's really powerful once you get used to it.
Lyle responds: Thank you Jordan. A paragraph is a paragraph. I have written several today and none of them needed a handle, and none of them needed to go to another page.

Priya from Austin, TX - 06/13/2024 Re: Notion review
Dark mode isn't a crash, Lyle. It's a setting. You turned it on yourself.
Lyle responds: Thank you Priya. I did not turn anything on. I was turning things off.

Dale from Wichita, KS - 01/27/2024 Re: Spotify review
(received by fax, transcribed by Lyle) The shuffle button is the crossed arrows. It was on. That is why it played a different song.
Lyle responds: Thank you Dale. Cover sheet was in order. Arrows should point somewhere. These pointed at each other, which is nowhere.

Kyle from (your nephew) - 01/24/2024 Re: Spotify review
uncle lyle that's MY account. my top artist is now herb alpert. my friends can see that
Lyle responds: You left the door open. Herb Alpert is a fine artist and your friends could do worse.

Barb from Peoria, IL - 09/20/2023 Re: Microsoft Paint review
Congratulations to Paint on the four. Will anything ever get a five?
Lyle responds: Thank you Barb. No.

Tom from Madison, WI - 09/16/2023 Re: Microsoft Paint review
Lyle, you know they've updated Paint like six times since XP? The new one has layers and AI.
Lyle responds: Thank you Tom. I am aware there are newer versions. That is what is wrong with them.

Ines from Lisbon - 05/21/2023 Re: Figma review
The hand is the Hand tool. It moves the page around. The tooltip shows up if you hold the mouse still for about a second.
Lyle responds: Thank you Ines. I held still. I have been holding still since 1991. It did not come up.

|
Marcus from Seattle, WA - 05/18/2023 Re: Figma review
Figma is a design tool for building app interfaces. It's not for photo albums. You can't review it as one.
Lyle responds: Thank you Marcus. I put photos in it. It is a photo album. I don't make the rules, I test against them.
